We would just like to wish everyone in the school community a Happy Christmas.
We have enjoyed our time as Head Boy and Head Girl immensely so far, from coming up with ideas for the newly introduced Collaboration Week, forming the new Student Council for this year, raising the LGTBQA+ Flag, organising a Christmas Jumper Day to raise funds for Autism Ireland and much more, we have had a busy and eventful couple of months. We have enjoyed every minute and are looking forward for what the new year has to bring.
My name is Conor Dolan and I have been lucky enough to be chosen as Head Boy of Ardgillan Community College for the 2021-2022. This role is well respected and prestigious in Ardgillan and I look forward to taking on this new challenge.
The past year has been difficult for everyone however we have worked exceptionally hard to keep the school a safe and happy environment for all, thanks to our pillars Teamwork, Respect and Excellence. This is something that I will continue to promote next year as Head Boy. We don’t know what the next year will bring, however I can ensure that myself and the other students will give our best effort to get Ardgillan back to some sort of normality. As Head Boy I have the opportunity to work with the different year groups next year and this is something I am very excited for. I believe that if year groups can interact and communicate with each other it will create a fantastic culture and atmosphere within the school.
I have enjoyed every minute of my time here in Ardgillan and this role provides me with the chance to give back to the school. I hope I can motivate all students next year to excel both inside school and outside school. A balance between studies, sports, music or any hobbies you enjoy is key. I am confident that our Student Council and Prefects will also provide great ideas to ensure an enjoyable year for the students and staff.
Finally I would like to congratulate all of our Prefects and Deputies for next year and I am eager to work with you all.
