Online Learning from Monday, January 11th

 Fri, 8th Jan, 2021

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

Happy new year to you from all in Ardgillan College. It is not the start to the new year that we all hoped for but by working together we will make it work.

Please see and familiarise yourself our Distance Learning plan which is below. From Monday January 11th, students will be working online with their teachers and should follow their school timetable for each day. Students should check their school email and log-in to their Edmodo accounts at 8.30 am on Monday morning. If you have any issues please email info@ardgillancc.ie and we will get back to you.

I want to reassure our 6th Year students that your teachers will do their utmost to prepare you for the Leaving Cert exams. I know the uncertainty at the minute is adding to your stress levels but every 6th Year student in the country is in the same position as you so it is still a level playing field. Just stay focused on your school work, do your best, continue to engage with your teachers and stay positive. If there is any 6th Year student who does not have their own device to work with at home please email me directly at nualanimhurchu@ardgillancc.ie and I will arrange for you to collect an iPad from the school next week. Please also, feel free to email me with any concerns you may have and I will hopefully be able to reassure you.

It is important to note that as per our school calendar next Thursday, January 14th is a JCT Cluster in-service day for all staff and so there will be no online learning for our students on this day as our school is closed to students to allow staff to attend their online in-service training.

It is going to be another challenging term for us all but our staff will continue to work together to do the best for the students in our care and to continue the excellent teaching and learning in our college.

Wishing you and your families every health and happiness for the year ahead.

Yours sincerely,

Nuala Ní Mhurchú

Principal
